License Plates in South Carolina

Specialty plates in South Carolina

  • The plate can include both numbers and letters
  • The numbers should be unique
  • Vulgar or indecent language is strongly prohibited
  • You cannot use symbols on your personalized license plate

Note that:

Disability License Plates

Vehicle registration and license plates

If you have purchased a vehicle or just moved to South Carolina, you need to register your car. For this, you have only 45 days. You can register and title your car at the same time. The procedure is possible in person and by mail.
